Award-winning 20-minute mini-documentary for the Delaware River Commission. First Place Documentary from the Pennsylvania Media Association. Solo video editor, animator, and producer.
A 20-minute mini-documentary produced for the Delaware River Commission, covering the river's environmental data, historical context, and cultural significance across its 13,539 square mile watershed. I served as the sole video editor, animator, and producer on the project.
The video won First Place for Documentary from the Pennsylvania Media Association in 2025.
Every animation was custom-built in After Effects. The underwater sequences with fish and forever chemicals (PFAS) floating through the river required compositing illustrated elements over researched environmental imagery to visualize contamination that's invisible to the naked eye. The map animations traced the full river system, highlighting specific regions and data points relevant to the Commission's mandate.
The project demanded deep research to ensure accuracy. I sourced area-specific imagery, verified watershed boundaries, cross-referenced environmental data, and worked with regional maps to make sure every visual was geographically and scientifically correct. This wasn't a generic environmental video. It was built specifically for stakeholders who know the Delaware River and would notice if something was wrong.
Custom underwater animation showing PFAS molecular structures floating among fish in the Delaware River. Built entirely in After Effects with illustrated elements composited over environmental imagery.
The Premiere Pro timeline for the full 20-minute documentary. The preview shows one of the animated map sequences highlighting the watershed's 13,539 square miles.
